Guangdong is the leading mould-exporting province in China, accounting for the largest share of the country's USD 8.67 billion annual mould export industry and exceeding the combined totals of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, which rank second and third respectively. As a foundational upstream requirement for many manufactured goods, Chinese moulds underpin production across many of the world's major economies with key destination markets including the United States, Germany and Japan.[1]
As China’s mould-making capabilities have strengthened, particularly in high-precision and specialised categories, the local industry now fulfils a growing share of domestic demand, leading to a 60 percent reduction in imports from USD 2.49 billion to USD 1.0 billion over the past decade.1 Across the domestic market, China’s mould industry now supports roughly RMB 36 trillion (USD 5.0 trillion) in finished goods production, including in the high-growth, high-tech sectors such as automotive manufacturing, new energy, consumer electronics and medical devices that require these specialised moulds.[2] As a result, Chinese suppliers are now handling projects of a complexity once reserved for the industry's most established suppliers.
For nearly two decades, Asiamold Select – Guangzhou has supported the growth of South China’s moulding industry. Since its debut in 2007, it has served as the premier annual meeting point for the region’s mould manufacturing industry, drawing suppliers and buyers from across China and the world. In 2025, together with co-located events SPS – Smart Production Solutions Guangzhou and Guangzhou Industrial Technology, the platform drew visitors from 82 countries and regions, with particularly strong attendance from Malaysia, Vietnam and South Korea. 85% held purchasing authority, with 29% attending to place orders and 25% seeking new suppliers.
The fair's 2026 edition will bring together exhibitors across the full moulding and mould-making production chain, showcasing the capabilities that have established the region as a major supplier to global manufacturing. The show floor will feature specialists in precision, injection and stamping moulds, such as Guangdu Precision Mold, Honggao Precision Mould, Seetom Mold and Shenzhen Jianyi Plastic Mould, alongside providers of mould steel, mould components and design software. Materials suppliers such as Huashi, Yuefeng Technology and Tenghongjie will also participate, along with coating technology specialists including Naiketai, Vacotech Nano Technology and PVT.
Alongside the exhibition, the event's annual fringe programme will return to explore key developments in the mould making industry. The agenda will feature presentations on current innovations, applications, and industry trends across both domestic and international markets, with a key focus on intelligent manufacturing technologies and additive manufacturing in mould making.
Asiamold Select – Guangzhou is organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd and Guangdong Die & Mould Industry Association. For more information on the event, visit www.asiamold-china.com or email asiamold@china.messefrankfurt.com.
